I don't know if this has ever happened to you... its happened a couple times where I have my mp3 player on shuffle, I'm listening to a song, with another song in my mind then bam!!! that song comes on next... Is my mp3 player reading my mind?????? This got me thinking a little bit.
There are technologies out there like the neuroswitch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWe5YVV9dWs if adapted, advanced, and combined with portable devices like the Iphone which are perpetually "connected" could have very ominous consequences.
What say you?

With todays advancements in technology and their uses, like iPhone, I would not be surprised if neuroswitch technology became integrated into commonplace. Imagine being able to open a computer file, change the song on your MP3 player or change the TV channel just by thinking about it. I think it would have the greatest impact on video game culture in the long run. With Nintendo Wii's ability to capture even the slightest body movement and incorporate it into a game, I don't think we are far off. My only issue with this technology for everyday use is the fact that are brains are constantly active, switching trains of thought and it would be very difficult to control the technology to do what we actually wanted. Who knows though, it would put a whole new meaning of having a song stuck in your head...
Hey Wes,
I really liked this post because it got me thinking about last.fm and pandora, which are to radios which also sort of read what you want to hear. Apple also just came out with its new program for their mp3 players. The program is called the genius and it plays songs you feel like hearing. Isn't that a little scary I ask you? If today these corporations and computer software’s are already being able to tell what you feel like hearing what are they going to do next. Will they ever truly reach a point where they read our minds directly?
